Summary
Merges the functions of the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) into the Australian Crime Commission (ACC) by amending the
Australian Crime Commission Act 2002
to enable the ACC to perform the AIC’s functions, including carrying out criminology research, sharing and publishing that research and carrying out commissioned research; and repealing the
Criminology Research Act 1971
to abolish the AIC as a statutory agency.
